1. Scope and operator
This Privacy Policy describes how Altro (“Altro,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you visit our website, use our calculators and tools, download worksheets, subscribe to emails, or purchase access to Altro Complete (our paid course program).
By using the site, you acknowledge this policy and our Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
2. Information we collect
We collect information in the following categories:
2.1 Information collected automatically
When you visit the site, we and our service providers may automatically collect:
- Device and browser type, operating system, and language settings
- IP address and approximate location derived from IP
- Pages viewed, referring/exit URLs, and time spent on pages
- Errors, performance data, and basic interaction events (for example, button clicks tracked through analytics)
Much of this data is collected through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies described in Section 3.
2.2 Information you provide voluntarily
- Email signup: If you subscribe for lesson updates or other email tips, you may submit an email address through a form hosted by our email service provider (for example, ConvertKit or Formspree).
- Course access: If you purchase Altro Complete, you may enter an access key on course-access.html. That key is stored locally in your browser (see Section 2.4). We do not operate a traditional user account system on our servers.
- Support inquiries: If you email us, we receive the content of your message and your email address.
2.3 Payment and purchase information
Purchases of Altro Complete are processed by third-party payment platforms (for example, Gumroad, Stripe, or Lemon Squeezy). We do not collect or store full payment card numbers on Altro’s servers. The payment processor collects billing details, transaction records, and contact information according to its own privacy policy.
2.4 Browser storage (local data on your device)
Some features store data in your browser only, not on our servers:
- Terms acceptance — version and timestamp when you agree to our Terms, Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Responsible Gambling policy

You can clear this data anytime through your browser settings. Clearing stored access keys will require re-entering your purchase key.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to run the site, remember your choices, and — with your consent — measure traffic. See our dedicated Cookie Policy for a full list of storage keys, categories, and preference controls.
In summary, we use these technologies to:
- Remember terms acceptance, course access, and lesson progress on your device
- Store optional profit-tracker data locally for enrolled users
- Measure traffic and understand how visitors use the site (Google Analytics 4 when configured and accepted)
- Support third-party checkout or email forms when you choose to use them
Optional analytics loads only after you accept cookies in our banner or on the Cookie Policy preferences panel. You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking storage may require re-entering your access key or agreeing to policies again. Industry opt-out: Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
4. How we use information
We use collected information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the website, course content, calculators, and downloads
- Deliver email lead magnets and course-related communications you request or purchase
- Process or facilitate purchases through payment partners
- Monitor security, troubleshoot errors, and prevent abuse
- Understand aggregate usage trends and improve educational content
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use
We do not use your information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
5. Sharing and third parties
We may share information with service providers that help us operate the site, including:
- Hosting providers (for example, Netlify or Cloudflare Pages)
- Analytics providers (for example, Google Analytics)
- Email marketing providers (for example, ConvertKit or Formspree)
- Payment processors (for example, Gumroad or Stripe)
These providers process data on our behalf and under their own terms and privacy policies. We may also disclose information if required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Altro, our users, or others.
If Altro is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to continued protection consistent with this policy.
6. We do not sell personal information
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in exchange for money or other valuable consideration, as “sell” and “share” are defined under applicable U.S. state privacy laws.
7. Data retention
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required by law. Analytics data is typically retained according to our analytics provider’s settings. Email list data is retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion through the list provider. Payment records are retained by the payment processor according to its policies and legal requirements.
Data stored in your browser remains until you clear it.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Access personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of information we control
- Opt out of marketing emails
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Receive a portable copy of information you provided
To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in Section 14. We may need to verify your identity before responding. If we process your data through a third party (for example, an email provider), you may also use that provider’s unsubscribe or privacy tools.
9. California residents
If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA, including the right to know categories of personal information collected, purposes of use, categories of recipients, and to request deletion or correction. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by California law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.
To submit a request, use the contact method in Section 14. Authorized agents may submit requests on your behalf with proof of authorization.
10. International visitors
Altro is operated from the United States. If you access the site from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the U.S. or other countries where our service providers operate. Those countries may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.
Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers. By using the site, you understand that your information may be processed as described in this policy.
11. Children’s privacy
The site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 (or the age of majority in their jurisdiction, if higher). If you believe a minor has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
Content about credit, banking, and wagering is not directed at minors. See our Responsible Gambling page for additional guidance.
12. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No website or internet transmission is completely secure. You use the site at your own risk and should protect your devices, access keys, and account credentials.
Course access keys are shared secrets distributed to purchasers. Treat your key like a password. Do not post it publicly or share it with others.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top will change when we do. Material changes may be highlighted on the site. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
14. Contact
For privacy questions, data requests, or complaints, contact support@yourdomain.com. Include “Privacy Request” in the subject line and enough detail for us to locate your request.
